Birthdays.... So, What of it?

It was my birthday a few weeks ago in which I am very thankful for the presents I received, many that are and if not, will be very useful to me at one point or another. Some may run out quickly and shortly and others will stay to be cherished. But among these presents, was one particular one that I've become tremendously fond of.

It came to me a week late, but better late than never! This person knows me incredibly well and gave me a present that immediately put a smile on my dial and made my heart jump just that little bit due to excitement. After unravelling the brown paper that confined and withheld this precious little surprise that tickled my curiosity a little more than I liked, I was finally able to set my eyes on it and hold it tightly in my hot little paws.

The Sartorialist. Gasp. Gasp. Gasp.

Stunned. Read my mind? Synergy? This book is one thing that I've been dying to buy but couldn't find the time to. And now I was holding it in my hands. THANK-YOU! Best present ever. (At least this will stay with me forever, through thick and thin and keep me warm at night.)

This book is AMAZING - encompassing major topics in which I believe to be one of the most important aspects in my life called my interests. I received it 2 days ago and still can't put it down, let alone help not turning back the pages to look at things over and over again. It's like holding a never-ending fashion blog in your hand. I die.

A little background: Technically, 'The Sartorialist' is a fashion blog by Scott Schuman. His blog was given life when soon after leaving a Fashion Sales Position, he began carrying a digital camera around the streets of New York, taking snapshots of people who were dressed in a certain way that captured his attention. He then posted these pictures in his blog and in due time pretty much pioneered fashion photography in blog form. Nowadays, ranging from New York to Milan to Paris to London etc., the location of his photos have not only just stayed in New York but have expanded to other fashion capitals around the world. Another thing, not only has his blog shot to so much fame and no doubt it too has reached many people and have been influenced them in one way or another, but this addictive site and its contents have been compiled together and transformed into one of the most magical things in the world called a book. I suggest you buy it.

Here's some of his work.
