Woodstock Era

How I wish I lived in that era.

Today's society just seems like there's too many people trying to out-do each other, rather than appreciating each other. Too much loathing and not enough loving. Today is an era, where yes, we are progressing and growing in terms of technology. Though we as humans are not getting any smarter and if anything are using less and less of what is God's gift to u - our brains and our hearts.

There is barely anything of what we call originality and 'real' anymore. Back in the day, everyone was carefree and leaving the house without caked on make-up was the trend. Love was real and true. It was an era where creativity would flow naturally. It was a time when speaking your mind was the right thing to do and everyone had a strong opinion about society. People knew who they were and stood up for themselves and what they believed in.

These days, too many people think that they have to prove something and way try too hard to out-do each other. The word "Love" gets thrown around a little too much and the majority of people don't know the true meaning of it. Too many people are too afraid to leave the house without 'putting their face on' even just to go to the supermarket. These days, people would rather follow the crowd and be a sheep because they're too lazy and scared to do something out of the ordinary. These days, people want to appear tough, but are actually not. Instead they are afraid of themselves. These days, too much insecurity surround people and today's society has created false images of what the 'perfect' human being is. This has led to giving people poor and low self-esteem. These days, people are too busy hating themselves and looking/judging others by what they see on the outside. They forget and some don't even realise that true beauty is in the inside and instead try to achieve something that doesn't exist. "Perfect".

Although some may argue that it is up to the person on whether they want to be influenced by such negative surroundings, but how can we get away from it when we are constantly being bombarded by these foul messages. On the television, in the magazines, in the movies, on the roads, billboards etc. What people can't see is that there is no such thing as "Perfect". They don't realise that we are just human beings and we all have faults. Having faults is sometimes and half the time what makes us unique from the crowd. And it's alright to be different. If anything, it's good to be different.

I miss the days when everything and everyone was just real. I'm not entirely liking the world we live in now, to me 90% of it is seeming to be fake and everything sugar-coated. Plastic never lasts and melts easily.
